When The Land of Rape and Honey came out, Ministry literally forged a new sound in industrial by infusing influences of hardcore into their music, which would become the sound they were best known for. It was also the first in the trilogy of albums (along with Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste and Psalm 69) that are from what is considered their "Golden Age." Ministry continued in the punk/hardcore ethos of song writing which spoke against corporate power, fascism and religious dogma.
